“What happened on August 27 was on Facebook Live. Only allegations do not mean anything. I will file a complaint, and an investigation will be conducted based on that complaint. An investigation is going on and the police summoned me for interrogation. I have answered all the questions they have asked. The rest of the legal battle will be on. I will go to the Calcutta High Court and the Supreme Court in the matter,” Banerjee said.
Tension erupted on August 27 when KMC officials, accompanied by police personnel, reached Banerjee’s Camac Street office to remove a billboard.
Banerjee also strongly condemned the alleged attack on former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday evening by a woman who claimed to be her niece.

“The Chief Minister, whom I consider to be heading an illegitimate government, has publicly stated that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would not be allowed to leave her residence or move freely on the streets. What kind of democratic principle allows a Chief Minister to threaten the movement of a former Chief Minister? I was also present in Kalighat yesterday and heard about the reported security incident involving Mamata Banerjee,” Abhishek said.
“The incident was very unfortunate. After all she is the former Chief Minister of the state and more importantly a woman. The way the incident happened yesterday was most unfortunate. I was present at my Kalighat office when this incident happened. The manner in which she tried to attack the former Chief Minister with a knife was most unfortunate considering that Mamata Banerjee is supposed to be entitled for “Z Plus” security. If the former Chief Minister had to confront such an attack, the safety of the common people in the state is well imaginable,” Banerjee said.
