GHAZIABAD: Dr Rajesh Talwar, arrested in connection with the Noida double murder case involving his daughter Aarushi, was on Friday granted bail by a designated CBI court here.
Designated judge Sapna Mishra granted bail to Talwar asking him to furnish a personal bond of Rs five lakh and two sureties of like amount.
The bail was granted by the judge after the CBI informed the court that the agency had not found any evidence linking him to the murders.
The Noida Police, which arrested him on May 23, had also not found any evidence against Talwar.
The doctor is at present lodged in Dasna jail for last 50 days and may walk to freedom soon.
The investigating agency, in a hurriedly called press conference, said the focus was on the role of servants who had allegedly tried to sexually assault 14-year-old Aarushi before killing her and Talwar's domestic help Hemraj.
Another domestic help of Talwar's neighbour -- Vijay Mandal -- was arrested today for allegedly conspiring in the double murder, CBI Joint Director Arun Kumar told reporters here.
"We have informed the designated court in Ghazaiabad that the agency has not found any evidence against Talwar and that Noida Police (who arrested him on May 23) had also not found any evidence...the court may pass appropriate orders," the CBI official said.
"Krishna was subjected to brain finger printing and narco analysis test...he confessed his involvement in the crime along with his two other associates Raj Kumar (domestic help of Talwar's family friend) and Vijay Mandal," he said.
