GHAZIABAD: Hearing in Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case could not be conducted in CBI court today due to lawyers' strike here.

Talwars' last defence witness - nodal officer of Vodafone - was today scheduled to record his statement before the trial court.

Court of Additional Sessions Judge Shyam Lal fixed August 6 as next date for hearing.

Manoj Sisodia, counsel of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar who are standing trial for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, said that last defence witness in the case was scheduled to record his statement today, but due to lawyers' strike, a hearing could not be conducted.

Lawyers' union today went on strike following which many cases scheduled for hearing went unheard.

Lawyers are demanding that no hearing in any case be conducted till August 5 in view of ongoing Kanwar Yatra.
