AAPSU says simple apology by Chakma refugees won't do
The AAPSU statement followed reported tendering of apology by the "Committee for Citizenship Rights of the Chakmas and Hajongs of AP.
"Simple apology or excuse doesn't work until and unless they prove their honesty and loyalty towards indigenous people of the state," the apex students' body said in a statement.
The AAPSU statement followed reported tendering of apology by the "Committee for Citizenship Rights of the Chakmas and Hajongs of Arunachal Pradesh" to the tribal people of the state for criminal offences allegedly committed by the refugees.
Their criminal acts included alleged recent gang rape of a local girl at Chowkham in Lohit district.
Committing of crime against indigenous people by the refugees created an atmosphere of distrust between the AAPSU and the government or the High Power Committee, parties to a mutual dialogue.
