AAPSU demands clear-cut policy for stopping illegal migrants

All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) calls for policy to hault the problem of illegal migrants.

ITANAGAR: After being disallowed to launch the second phase of their 'Operation Clean Drive' against illegal Bangladesh migrants, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has submitted a representation to chief minister Dorjee Khandou demanding a policy to resolve the problem.

Referring to their ongoing agitation against such migrants launched in Papum Pare and East Siang districts, AAPSU on Friday said that some section of the deported Bangladeshis were coming back because of lack of a proper policy.

The apex student body urged the chief minister to call a meeting of deputy commissioners of all the districts to find a permanent solution to the problem and strengthening the chief gates to prevent illegal entries of Bangladeshis.

They also demanded that issuing inner line permits (ILPS) to labourers should be stopped and appealed to the political leaders, contractors,business community and associations not to engage the Bangladeshios as cheap labouers in construction sites, cultivation, crops and makets and for driving auto rickshaws and scrap collectors in the border state.
