MUMBAI: The online facilities of the Forest Department such as registration of Tendu leaves contractors and producers, will now be available on the ' Aaple Sarkar' ('Your Government') portal of Maharashtra government.

The BJP-led government in Maharashtra has pledged to deliver 160 services in a time-bound manner under the Right to Services Act which came into effect from July 28, 2015.

Finance, Planning and Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had initiated the use of online services by the Forest Department for prompt delivery of services, and in July the Forest Department had made 10 services available online on 'Mahaforest.gov.in.', an official release said.

Accordingly, under the Right To Services Act, compensation for injury to or death of humans due to attack of wild animals will have to be paid within 15 days, compensation of damage to crops by wild animals within 30 days, etc.
