AAP willing to contest Goa Assembly polls next year
PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party today said it would contest all 40 seats in Goa in the Assembly elections slated for next year if its Parliamentary Affairs Committee gives approval.

"The BJP-led government which has been ruling Goa is most discredited (government) in the country. They (people) don't want to continue with the current government and also have no love for Congress too," AAP leader Ashutosh told reporters here, adding that AAP would go solo without forging any alliance.

He was accompanied by party secretary Pankaj Gupta.

Ashutosh said people are looking for an alternative, clean, honest and performing government which can give them relief from corruption. "People are looking for the alternative and AAP would be the one," he added.

Ashutosh said the party is wiling to contest all 40 constituencies but the final call would be taken only by its Parliamentary Affairs Committee.

He announced that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will soon visit Goa.

AAP has been holding meetings across the coastal state in the view of polls.

Clarifying that AAP would not have any truck with any political outfit for the polls, Ashutosh said, "BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin. We are not the conventional political party and that is why we don't get indulged in any pre or post electoral alliance".
