NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the Aam Aadmi Party would be distributing 25 lakh letters and hold 200 jan sabhas to seek public opinion on taking support for government formation. Kejriwal said the public opinion would be sought until the weekend, and a final decision on government formation would be taken on December 23.

Kejriwal said that AAP was not formed with an intention to rule, but with an intention to remove corruption. "AAP has risen against corruption in India and was formed to fight oppressive policies of BJP and Congress," he added.

Criticising both Congress and BJP for spreading false rumours, Kejriwal said, "AAP was not running away from government formation and if people want then the party would form the government in Delhi."

Kejriwal accused the BJP of playing dirty politics, he said that the party does not care about the people of Delhi.

Criticising the BJP, Kejriwal said, "Surprising that BJP did not even bother to reply to our letter. If Rajnath Singh found it below his dignity to reply to our letter then he could have asked someone else to reply."

After Congress decided to extend unconditional support to AAP on December 13, Kejriwal had written letters to Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and BJP President Rajnath Singh seeking their parties' views on 18 issues, including passing of Janlokpal Bill, full statehood to Delhi, reduction on water tariff and audit of power discoms among others, before moving ahead to form a government.

Congress had then put the ball in AAP's court, saying 16 of its 18 demands needed just administrative decisions and had nothing to do with Parliament or Assembly.

The BJP bagged 31 seats and fell short of a clear majority in the 70-member house while the AAP got 28 seats. The Congress was a distant third with only eight seats.
