The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest all 90 assembly seats in Haryana and not enter into alliance with any party in the forthcoming state polls, months after it fought the Lok Sabha polls in the state in partnership with the Congress.

The party, which had fielded candidates in 46 seats in the 2019 assembly election, will declare its candidates by early September, said party functionaries. Even as the party is readying to contest all assembly seats, its primary focus will be the 28 constituencies along the Haryana-Punjab border, they said. These include constituencies in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Kaithal, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra districts.

"We will not have an alliance with any political party. We have a clean slate and want to fight on our own strength," Anurag Dhanda, AAP senior vice-president in charge of Haryana, told ET.

The AAP had fought the 2019 parliamentary election in alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party and 2024 general election with the Congress. Its senior leader Sushil Gupta lost the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat to the BJP's Naveen Jindal by a narrow margin of 29,021 votes.

The AAP's main poll plank will be "Kejriwal's 5 guarantees" - free electricity, employment to youth, free education to every child, free medical treatment and Rs 1,000 per month to every woman above 18 years of age.
