Escalating its intervention in the gruesome murder of a teenaged girl in Delhi’s Anand Parvat area, the Aam Aadmi Party has called a day long assembly session.

NEW DELHI: Escalating its intervention in the gruesome murder of a teenaged girl in Delhi’s Anand Parvat area, the Aam Aadmi Party has called a day long assembly session to ‘propose, discuss and pass’ a resolution for setting up a Commission of Enquiry which will receive and study complaints concerning gender violence after the 2013 Criminal Law (Amendment) was brought in effect.

“It is proposed to set up a Commission of enquiry under the Commission of Inquiry Act, to receive complaints from victims of sexual harassment or stalking or voyeurism in whose cases appropriate action has not been taken, since the February 2013 ie, introduction of the new law and (who) did not get justice,” an official government statement detailing the July 28 session said.
