AAP 'seasonal bird', Cong 'proven enemy' of state: CM Badal

KATTIANWALI (MUKTSAR): Sharpening his attack on the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today termed the former as "seasonal birds" and the latter "proven enemy" of the state and cautioned people against their "malicious propaganda" ahead of 2017 assembly polls.

"These leaders ( AAP's and Cong's) are indulging in political gimmickry to attain power in the state," Badal said during Sangat Darshan in Lambi assembly segment here.

"In view of the assembly polls, a number of seasonal birds have ended their period of hibernation and are indulging in all sorts of political gimmicks to attain power in the state," said the five-time CM.

"While one such bird is donning the cap of Aam Aadmi the other one - the Congress, which is a known enemy of state - is experimenting new methods to woo the people," he said.

"The interests of the state are safe only in hands of SAD-BJP alliance, which is devoted to all round development of the state and prosperity of its people," he said.

He said the Congress party has a "notorious" past of meting out step-motherly treatment to the state.

"Can anyone forgive this party who has denied the state its capital, legitimate share of river waters, and Punjabi-speaking areas. Their hands are drenched in blood of innocent Sikhs during anti-Sikh carnage in several parts of the country and Operation Blue star," he said.

He said his party Shiromani Akali Dal has always remained on forefront to secure the interests of the state and relentlessly opposed any sort of injustice to Punjab and Punjabis.
