AAP is planning to bring back the controversial decision taken in 2013 of making its seat of power — Delhi Secretariat — out of bounds for media.

NEW DELHI: AAP government is all set to change the rules of the game as it assumes power on Saturday. While Delhi bureaucracy is fidgeting over who would be posted out, AAP 2.0 is already rolling on collision course with the media.

According to sources, AAP government is planning to bring back the controversial decision taken in December 2013 of making its seat of power — Delhi Secretariat — out of bounds for media personnel. The decision had come under a lot of flak then and was partially rolled back as the media protested over reduced access.

The swish Delhi Secretariat — also known as Players’ Building as it was built to house athletes in the Asian Games 1982 — has always been a public dealing office frequented by journalists and the common man.

Also, Urban Development Secretary Rajendra Kumar may assume the post of principal secretary to chief minister. He had stepped into this role in Kejriwal’s first government. A techno-savvy babu, this 1989 batch IAS officer is credited for turning around government schools during his stint as director, education.
