'Aap Pehle Se Hi Nange Ho': PM Modi’s sharp jibe at Congress over shirtless protest at AI Summit
In a scathing attack on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (February 22, 2026) accused the principal Opposition party of indulging in “dirty and shameless politics”. Linking the party’s youth wing’s “shirtless” protest on Friday (February 20, 2026) at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi to the nation’s image, Mr. Modi said the Congress and its ecosystem had touched a new low. Describing the topless protest as “nangi rajneeti” (naked politics) in front of industry leaders, he said it was an example of ideological bankruptcy that had lowered the dignity of a global event. “Everybody knows you are naked. You don’t need to take off clothes,” Mr. Modi said, addressing a public meeting in Meerut on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and Meerut Metro.
