AAP Ombudsman Admiral Ramdas to stay put
NEW DELHI: AAP ombudsman Admiral Ramdas told ET on Saturday that he will not step down as the internal Lokpal unless the party makes a case for removing him. “I am going to continue (as Lokpal) till the end of this year. I can tell you I am not resigning. Quitters never win and winners never quit,” he said. Ramdas’ statement is significant as it comes after party secretary Pankaj Gupta informed him, in an SMS, that his tenure as Lokpal had expired. Ramdas, however, denied that was the case. The former Chief of Naval Staff, who did not attend the National Council meeting on Gupta’s request, has been facing heat from the Kejriwal camp recently with some leaders’ questioning his neutrality as AAP ombudsman.
