AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi declared dead after sustaining bullet injury, family claims accidental shooting

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi, representing Ludhiana West, tragically passed away late last night, reportedly due to a gunshot injury.

The incident occurred around midnight, and Gogi was declared dead upon arrival at DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja confirmed the development, stating, Gurpreet Gogi was declared brought dead at the hospital, his body has been kept at the mortuary in DMC hospital. Post-mortem will be conducted. As per the family members, he shot himself accidentally, he sustained bullet injuries to his head. Cause of death will be clear once post-mortem report comes..."



The DCP further told ANI that the exact cause of death will only be clear after the post-mortem report. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Gogi, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022, gained prominence by defeating two-time Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Ludhiana assembly elections. His untimely demise has shocked the political community, and further details are awaited as investigations continue.
