AAP leader Pankaj Gupta on tour of Maharashtra

MUMBAI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national secretary Pankaj Gupta is on a four-day tour of Maharashtra to take stock of party activities and reviews its 'Mission Vistar'.

Gupta began his tour yesterday from Mumbai and was accompanied with party national spokesperson Ashutosh. They met senior leader of Maharashtra Mayank Gandhi, who had rebelled against the national leadership earlier.

"The two leaders made a detailed assessment of party functionaries and monitored different activities launched to reach out to people in the state. They were largely content with most of developments but also raised few alarms," a senior party leader, who attended the meeting, said.

Gupta today visited Aurangabad where he reviewed party activities in a meeting that was attended by Aurangabad and nearby district members, AAP state unit's head, Subhash Ware said.

"After the Aurangabad visit, Gupta will be visiting Pune and Amaravati, where members of all 55 districts will attend the meeting," Ware added.

According to the senior leader, the tour is being taken out to regain faith of many workers at the grass-root level, that was shaken after the internal fiasco and expulsion of the four senior leaders, including Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav.

"Party leaders have asked to create a brigade of dedicated volunteers so that in next election, if we fight, we should have at least one volunteer at each poll booth," another party leader said on condition of anonymity.
