Buoyed by the decisive victory in the Punjab assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has initiated a village-level recruitment drive in neighbouring Haryana and is gearing up for a massive rally of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal next month.

The electoral win in Punjab has had a ripple effect in Haryana as AAP is now being flooded with membership requests.

Speaking exclusively to ET, AAP's Haryana incharge and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Gupta said, "Over the last one and a half months since we won Punjab, about 1.75 lakh people have joined our state unit in Haryana. This is mainly because we have energised our units right down to the village level. There are 7,200 villages in Haryana and every village now has a party unit. Over every 10 villages we have a circle unit and every assembly constituency has four teams of dedicated AAP workers."
