NEW DELHI: Tussle between the Centre and Delhi government over the alleged DDCA scam continued on Monday with the latter leaking letter written by Gopal Subramaniam to CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday in support of the Commission of Enquiry, contradicting LG Najeeb Jung’s opinion against the legality of it. Around the same time, Kejriwal’s barbs against the BJP provoked strong reactions from the ruling party, which called it a “daily drama”.

“BJP almost begging me for an apology. Sorry. I won’t oblige them. Let Jaitleyji be cross-examined in defamation cases. Let truth prevail,” Kejriwal said, opening the attack against the BJP on Monday morning. He also denied any “clean chit” to Jaitley by the Delhi government’s probe committee on DDCA.

Subramaniam’s letter, released a few hours after those strongly-worded remarks, made a legal case in support of the Kejriwal government’s right to set up a Commission of Enquiry. Response from the BJP to the AAP’s charge on Monday was swift.

Speaking with reporters, Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar said, “Kejriwal is enacting a drama on a daily basis as part of his political agenda. Such are his ways that he may bring Obama (under inquiry)… he should better come clean on auto permit scam.”
