NEW DELHI: In one of its latest radio ads, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal assures an elderly woman that his party will return to power with full majority and she needs to keep faith. Kejriwal says, "Mataji... ab narazgi chhodiye, thoda muskura dijiye." The new ad campaign was launched in response to an advertisement by BJP, where an old woman is heard complaining about Kejriwal and how he deserted Delhi.

The two parties have been engaged in an acrimonious exchange over the past few weeks and the new ad aims at introducing some humour in the ongoing election campaign. The party has asked radio channels to run Kejriwal's response right after the BJP ads though sources said that might not always be possible.

"BJP has been running a negative campaign, obviously because it has no agenda to speak about. AAP, on the other hand, has refrained from attacking BJP members individually. The new campaign aims at establishing just that. By addressing the woman's complaints directly, Kejriwal not only establishes a connect with the ' aam aadmi' but also talks about the party's agenda without criticizing anyone," said a party source.

The AAP ad says: "I heard an old woman on radio the other day who sounded very sad because she voted for me and I resigned as CM. She thought I did not respect her vote. I would like to address her directly. I did not run away. I will return with full majority. Just continue blessing us. Your vote and effort did not go waste. We only fell short by a few seats. Keep faith."

Another ad has also been released, which has a 'common man' talking about the two main parties in the fray this time, AAP and "another party". Without naming anyone, the man asks whom people will vote for, AAP that has promised CCTV coverage to ensure safety of women, free water to each household and a hi-tech world class city or "the other party", which talks of love jihad, no jobs for women and a dress code for them. BJP launched its ads in December last week which criticized AAP for making false promises. The people featured in the ads have called Kejriwal and AAP "bhagoda", "dhokebaaz" and "bhrashtachari".
