NEW DELHI: Supporting Arvind Kejriwal's decision to resign as Delhi Chief Minister, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said that a national anti-corruption campaign will start soon. "We will organise campaign and yatras, to sensitise people about corruption," AAP leaders said.

"Kejriwal will lead the anti-corruption struggle that will launch in Haryana on February 23," said AAP leaders. AAP's Sanjay Singh said, "The Jhadoo yatra will expose the alliance of the Congress and BJP." "We are fighting against corruption. Since we were unable to bring Janlokpal Bill, Arvind Kejriwal resigned," Singh added.

"Yesterday in the Assembly, Congress-BJP MLAs were shouting we are 40, to oppose the Janlokpal Bill. It is clear that they are hand-in-glove," Singh said.

Manish Sisodia of AAP said, "We think the Congress-BJP alliance should run the government in Delhi. They have worked together on multiple scams."

Meanwhile, Lt. Governor Jung forwarded Kejriwal's resignation, along with his report on the current events, to the President.

"...It is clear that Aam Aadmi Party will contest general elections under Kejriwal's leadership across the country," senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said.

Kerjriwal yesterday resigned as Delhi Chief Minister shortly after his government was defeated on the issue of tabling of the Janlokpal Bill in Delhi Assembly in the face of a united resistance by outside supporter Congress and BJP.

Congress and Opposition BJP said Kejriwal was never serious about governing and was looking for an excuse to "run away" to cover up his "failure" to deliver on his commitments.

The BJP also made it clear that the party would seek fresh elections in Delhi and was ready for it rather than form an alternative government since it did not have the required numbers in the state Assembly.
