Aam Aadmi Party's warring factions hold 4-hour meeting
NEW DELHI: In what appeared like a reconciliation in the making, leaders of both warring factions in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spoke for four hours on Tuesday in a bid to thrash out a compromise.

The meeting on Tuesday was an extension of the midnight discussion between Yogendra Yadav and four leaders of the Arvind Kejriwal camp the night before. “The discussion today was also very fruitful. We have decided to meet again on Wednesday,” AAP leader Ashish Khetan told ET. He did not elaborate on the issues discussed during the meeting.

Khetan along with his colleagues Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas and Ashutosh has met Yadav at his residence for almost three hours late Monday night as well. According to party sources, the four leaders have been appointed by Kejriwal to call truce with the dissenting leaders Bhushan and Yadav.

Bhushan declined to meet this delegation on Tuesday after his appointment request was turned down by the party chief. Kejriwal replied to Bhushan’s SMS on Tuesday saying he was busy with “budget work”. This prompted the dissident camp to also appoint two representatives to negotiate a compromise on their behalf with the Kejriwal camp on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, AAP’s political affairs committee decided to look into the demand for contesting polls outside Delhi and agreed to form a panel to look into the interests of volunteers.
