NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today demanded setting up of a commission to investigate the alleged case of corporate espionage in a time-bound manner.

The party also demanded action against the top officials of the companies, following the arrest of low-ranking officials of the Petroleum Ministry.

"The goverment is patting its back after the arrest of low-ranking officials in the case. But they should arrest senior officials of these companies because those who have been arraigned were directed by the high ranking officials of these companies," senior party leader Ashutosh told a news conference here.

Calling the companies, whose name have cropped up in the controversy as "habitual offenders", the party said there was nothing new in the case and this has been in practise in the country since 1980s.

"Our fear is that the case will be buried. The government has to assure the people that it is serious in getting into the depth of the matter. It should form a commission to probe the incident.

"Not only that the investigation should happen in a time-bound manner, so that the case reaches its logical end," Ashutosh added.
