Aam Aadmi Party sweeps Delhi APMC polls
NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party today swept the APMC polls as its candidates won 14 out of the total 18 seats across seven wholesale mandis in the national capital with the party terming the win as a mandate against the Centre's demonetisation.

The mandis were the one of the first visible casualties after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes last month.

Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai termed it as a mandate against demonetisation while AAP's Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey termed the outcome as a "semifinal" to the MCD polls.

The Agricultural Produce Market Committee in Delhi helps in managing the sabzi mandis in the national capital.

Interestingly, when BJP had swept Delhi Cant polls before the 2015 Assembly polls, AAP had downplayed the victory saying had not nothing to do with state polls.
