A good year for India-Pak relationship: US

The United States is encouraged by the improvement in relationship between India and Pakistan in the year 2011, a top Clinton aide said today.

WASHINGTON: The United States is encouraged by the improvement in relationship between India and Pakistan in the year 2011, a top Clinton aide said today.

"We have long encouraged direct dialogue between India and Pakistan. We are encouraged that on this front 2011 was a good year, that they made considerable progress together," State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, told reporters at her daily news conference.

"We want to see that progress deepened and strengthened in 2012," Nuland said hoping that the US wants to see further progress in this relationship between the two South Asian neighbors.
