84 disciplinary cases initiated against HUDCO officials: Government

Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against officers of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) in 84 cases in the last five years.

NEW DELHI: Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against officers of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation ( HUDCO) in 84 cases in the last five years, the government said today.

The information was shared in Lok Sabha by Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister Kumari Selja in response to an unstarred question about number of cases investigated by the Central Vigilance Commission in the last five years.

"During the last five years, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against HUDCO officers in 84 such cases, which include the cases investigated by the Central Vigilance Commission," Selja said.

Giving more details, she said there were 58 cases wherein disciplinary proceedings were initiated against HUDCO officers pertaining to sanction or release of loan or lapses in documentation.

"Major/minor proceedings have been imposed on 5 officers and proceedings involving major/minor penalty are presently under progress against 16 officers," Selja said.
