Eighty officials have been debarred from future allotment of government accomodation for subletting quarters, the Urban Development Ministry said today.

NEW DELHI: Eighty officials have been debarred from future allotment of government accomodation for subletting quarters in various colonies, including in Sarojini Nagar and R K Puram, in the capital, the Urban Development Ministry said today.

In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said that during 2015, 114 officials were issued show cause notices in Sarojini Nagar and R K Puram areas.

He said that after detailed inquiry on the proven charges of subletting, allotment of 63 officials were cancelled.

"A total of 80 officials, inclusive of the 63, were debarred from future allotment of government accomodation," Supriyo added.
