NEW DELHI: BJP seized on Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s remarks that another win for it in 2019 Lok Sabha elections would make India a ‘Hindu Pakistan’ to ‘predict’ that the Congress will not get support of Hindus in any election for the “next seven generations.”

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra termed Tharoor’s statement as “shameless” and alleged Congress has not “lost any opportunity to demean India and defame Hindus.” He said Congress President Rahul Gandhi coined the term Hindu terrorist and was subsequently used by UPA ministers P Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde.

“The Pakistan appeasing policies of Congress are unparalleled,” Patra alleged and claimed Congress always provided “oxygen” to Pakistan.

“Seven generations of Hindus are not going to forgive Congress for these remarks. Congress has always taken Hindus for granted… They will press the button on the EVM in over seven generations of elections to defeat the Congress,” Patra said.
