MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government is preparing a master plan to construct an administrative complex for the newly created district of Palghar and has earmarked 600 acre of land in its possession for the same.

Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshtriya said the construction work will be taken up in two phases and it will take atleast three years for completion.

The master plan would be for government offices, police headquarters and residential complexes for government employees.

At present, the Collector and police headquarters have been temporarily based in the sales tax building in the district.

Kshtriya said rehabilitation of the Malin village where the landslide tragedy cost more than 150 lives was a priority for the government. "60 per cent of the area has been cleared of the debris."
