AGRA: About 6 kg gold was allegedly looted at gun-point from two brothers engaged in jewellery business in Vijay Nagar Colony area here, police said.

The incident occurred last evening when the victims identified as Rinku Bansal and Robin Bansal, were returning home from their shop in Chaubey Ji Ka Phatak (jewellery market of Agra) with a bag carrying 6 kg gold, Superintendent of Police (City) R K Singh said.

The duo were apprehended in Vijay Nagar Colony by a gang of five armed bike-borne miscreants who looted the bag at gunpoint, he said.

The SP said a case has been registered and a manhunt launched to nab the accused.

T N Agarwal, the president of Vyapar Samiti, a body of district traders, said the shops in the jewellery market will remain closed today in protest against the incident.
