57 armed force personnel to complete flying instructors course

The batch of officers, who commenced the 24 week training in December 2012, included 49 from the Air Force, one from the Army and three from the Navy.

CHENNAI: A total of 57 armed forces personnel, including two foreigners, will complete their 'Flying Instructors Course' at the Flying Instructors School (FIS) at nearby Tambaram on May 26.

The batch of officers, who commenced the 24 week training in December 2012, included 49 from the Air Force, one from the Army and three from the Navy, an IAF press release said.

The 'Qualified Flying Instructors Course' comprised academics and flying training with tests and exams, which focused on ground training and theoretical knowledge with practical aspects of aircraft systems and piloting.

Air Marshal AP Garud, Senior Air Staff Officer, Headquarters would preside over the valedictory function on May 26, it said.
