548 projects sanctioned under urban renewal mission

NEW DELHI: The government has sanctioned 548 projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath informed the Lok Sabha Tuesday.

"While 127 projects have been reported physically completed, the remaining 421 projects have been reported to be in various stages of implementation," he said in a written reply.

These projects were sanctioned till Feb 29 under the Urban Infrastructure and Governance component of JNNURM.

Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission is a massive city modernisation scheme launched by the urban development ministry.
