53 people arrive in Chennai from strife-torn Libya

The group had arrived from Delhi. On Sunday, twenty people hailing from the state, who were part of a group of Indians airlifted from Libya to Delhi, had arrived here.

CHENNAI: Fifty-three more people hailing from Tamil Nadu and who had been evacuated from trouble-torn Libya, arrived here today by an Air India flight.

State government officials were present to receive them and had made all arrangements to transport them to their respective destinations across the state, airport sources said.

The group had arrived from Delhi. On Sunday, twenty people hailing from the state, who were part of a group of Indians airlifted from Libya to Delhi, had arrived here.

A total of 557 Indians had arrived in Delhi in two batches by air from Libya early today, taking to 1,083 the number of people evacuated by four Air India special flights over the past few days.
