50 Uttar Pradesh districts declared drought-hit; revenue realisation suspended
As per the rain record made available by MeT Department, only 53.50 per cent rainfall was recorded between June to September 30.

An official spokesman said tonight that the chief minister had declared 50 districts as drought-hit with the district magistrates of these districts having been asked to chalk out a plan to deal with the situation and ensure that farmers are not harassed in the name of revenue relisation.
As per the rain record made available by MeT Department, only 53.50 per cent rainfall was recorded between June to September 30.
In 33 of these districts, rainfall of 40 to 60 per cent was recorded while, in 16 districts, it was below 40 per cent.
Among the districts which have been declared drought-hit are: Ravidas Nagar, Sultanpur, Mirzapur, Balia, Siddharthnagar, Shahjahanpur, Banda, Pratapgarh, Chandauli, Etawa, Baghpat, Jaunpur, Faizabad, Gonda, Kannauj, Barabanki, Sant Kabir Nagar, Jhansi, Jalaun, Gorakhpur, Hathras, Eta, Allahabad, Ghaziabad, Farrukhabad, Mau, Unnao, Rampur, Hamirpur, Lalitpur, Chitrakoot, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Deoria, Mainpuri, Maharajganj, Agra, Auraiya, Pilibhit, Amethi, Mahoba, Raibareli, Kushinagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kaoushbhi, Fatehpur, Amedkar Nagar and Barlrampur.
