HISAR: As many as 42 teachers, including 19 women, working at various government schools in the district have been booked for getting jobs allegedly on the basis of fake documents and impersonation during the recruitment examination.

Cases have been registered against the teachers during the past three days in various police stations of the district, a police spokesperson said today.

A probe into the complaints against these teachers, who were recruited in 2011, found that they had allegedly presented forged documents to get government jobs, District Elementary Education officer Baljit Sherawat said.

It was also found that the accused teachers allegedly impersonated in Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET/STET), as their thumb impressions did not match during forensic examination, he said.

On the complaints of Haryana Education Department officials, cases were registered in various police stations in the district under Sections 419 (cheating by impersonation), 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy), the spokesperson said.
