'40 lakh people on the streets ... Rahul Gandhi has curbed them': Jharkhand Minster Irfan Ansari
A Congress minister’s warning that India could face a situation worse than Bangladesh and Nepal if the Centre failed to address growing public discontent triggered a political storm on Thursday, with the BJP accusing him of speaking the “language of anarchy” and demanding legal action. Congress minister and Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari made the remarks while speaking to news agency PTI about recent youth-led agitations. He claimed discontent against the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre was mounting among youths, farmers and minorities, and warned that the situation could deteriorate if the Prime Minister failed to address public concerns. “From youths, farmers to minorities, everyone is troubled by the regime in the Centre and if the Prime Minister does not become alert, the country’s situation will turn worse than Bangladesh and Nepal. They are waiting for just one command. They will not go beyond what Rahul Gandhi says. Rahul Gandhi is holding these young people back,” Ansari said.
