4 new members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council take oath

LUCKNOW: Four new members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council today took oath in the nominated category.

Legislative Council Chairman Ganesh Shankar Pandey administered the oath to Ram Briksh Yadav, SRS Yadav, Jitendra Yadav and Lilavati Khushwaha.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey, Health Minister Ahmad Hasan and senior Samajwadi party leaders were present on the occasion.

Of the nine names sent to Raj Bhawan in the category of nominated members, Governor Ram Naik cleared the name of four and sought information regarding others.

Names of Rajpal Kashyap, Ranvijay Singh, Kamlesh Pathak, Abdul Sarfaraz Khan and Sanjay Seth are awaiting the Governor's nod.
