39-year old female flight attendant commits suicide, family alleges dowry harassment

A 39-year old female flight attendant allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the terrace of her residence in Delhi's Hauz Khas. According to reports the victim, Anisiya Batra, was working with a German airline.

As per reports, the air hostess jumped from the terrace of her house on Friday evening. Her husband rushed her to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead.

Her family has alleged that she was harassed for dowry. The woman had been married for over two years and used to live with her husband in Hauz Khas.


Before jumping off the terrace, she reportedly sent a message to her husband, informing him that she was going to take the extreme step

Her husband, a software engineer in Gurgaon, told police that they had regular fights as there were "compatibility issues". They had an argument on the the ill-fated day, following which she jumped from the terrace, police said.

The body has been sent for postmortem, the police said. Police have registered a case and are questioning the husband and his family members.
