Twenty five per cent of the electorate exercised their franchise in Adilabad and Karimnagar parliamentary seats each, while the voting percentage was 26 in Warangal and 25 in Hanamkonda Lok Sabh constituencies, official sources said.

The scorching heat conditions across Telangana region forced many voters to stay indoors and polling is expected to pick up later in the day.

Barring stray incidents of clashes among the workers of various political parties, polling has been peaceful so far, police said.

TRS activists held a demonstration at Madikonda village under Hanamkonda Lok Sabha constituency in Warangal district alleging the Congress workers violated the model code by distributing polling chits which carried the photograph of the ruling party's candidate.

Malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was reported from many places in Vizianagarm, Karimnagar and Warangal districts, the sources said.
