In a generational churn, BJP is ushering in a new millennial leadership push in its rank, with the national yuva morcha chief expected to be under 35 and state youth wing heads below 32.

The move comes under new president Nitin Nabin, 45, with all organisational appointments from booth to state levels being aligned with his age profile.

The intent was reinforced during a meeting of BJP office-bearers and national executive members on Wednesday, a day after Nabin assumed charge. BJP general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh and joint general secretary (organisation) Shivprakash made it clear that the age norms, long on the rulebook, will now be strictly enforced.

Nabin also reviewed BJP's preparation for the upcoming West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry polls. Sources said he emphasised sharper communication, stronger cadre and closer coordination with the government to boost the reach of the Centre's welfare schemes.

Nabin also underscored narrative control, directing leaders to monitor political and social discourse closely, ensuring that only authorised voices represent the party publicly.

Santhosh reiterated the need for dedicated teams to reach daily wagers and farmers to counter Opposition attacks over the VB-G Ram G Act.
