3 NSLA terrorists, over ground worker arrested in Assam

GUWAHATI: Three NSLA terrorists and an over ground worker were today arrested in a joint operation by the Army and Kokrajhar police at Kashiabari village in Assam.

The arrested militant was identified as Sonyram Soren who served as secretary of a NSLA platoon. He was considered to be the right hand man of Kashiabari Area Commander Framjeet alias Dadiya, army sources said.

He was trained at Tapu Sankosh river. His arrest would help in providing information about other NSLA cadres who are on the run, they said.

The other two apprehended are Shivlal Hembrom and Dhub Kisku. An over ground worker, Roshan Murmu, was also arrested.

One 7.62 mm SLR with magazine, 20 cartridges of 7.62mm ammunition, two country made pistols, one hand grenade and other equipment were recovered from them.

This successful operation thwarted the plans of the terrorist organisation to spread terror and disturb peace and harmony ahead of the upcoming Bodo Tribal Council elections, the army sources added.
