3-fold rise in Fadnavis' twitter followers after becoming CM

MUMBAI: The number of followers of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on twitter has increased three-fold within a month of him assuming the charge.

Fadnavis, who is tech-savvy and active on platforms like twitter and facebook, had over 30,000 followers before becoming chief minister but the number shot up to over 90,000 after he sworn in as CM on October 31, said Nidhi Kamdar who handled the CM's social media initiative.

"The chief minister has decided to harness the power of technology and social media to implement his three-pronged strategy of giving a transparent, efficient and inclusive administration to people of Maharashtra," said Kamdar who is part of the CMO.
