3 fast track courts in Muzaffarnagar for crime against women cases

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Three fast track courts have been set up for speedy trial of pending cases of crime against women here.

According to officials, three fast track courts have been established and District and Sessions Judge Vijay Laxmi transferred the pending cases of crime against women to these courts here yesterday.

About 500 cases of crime against women including 125 cases of rape and gang-rape were found pending in several district courts.

It is learnt that about 100 cases of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 were reported in the district in 2014 and are pending in a special court here.
