2nd Test: India 150/2; Dravid out
India scored 150 runs at the loss of 2 wickets at the end of 43rd over in the opening day of the second Test against Pakistan in Kolkata.
Rahul Dravid – before getting out at the score of 50 – along with Wasim Jaffer, more than made up for the early loss of Dinesh Karthik as the two stitched a partnership of 100 runs.
Earlier, India captain Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat. The hosts started off badly as Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir claimed his first victim in the form of Dinesh Karthik in the very second over of the Test.
Regular Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik missed the match with an ankle injury and vice-captain Younis Khan is leading the side.
The visitors received a boost when fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami were cleared to play after passing fitness tests.
Batsman Faisal Iqbal was named in the starting lineup in place of Malik. India were unchanged from the team which won the opening Test in New Delhi by six wickets.
The final match of the series will be played in Bangalore next week.
