2G scam, Radia tapes denting India's image: Infosys
CEO S Gopalakrishnan called for a quick end to the raging twin-issues while asking the media to not brand the entire biz world with negative brush.
BANGALORE: 2G scam and the Niira Radia tapes controversy are denting the image of India, IT bellwether Infosys' top official said today.
The NASDAQ-listed company's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan called for a quick end to the raging twin-issues while asking the media to not be judgemental in branding the entire business world with negative brush.
Responding to questions posed by reporters, Gopalakrishnan said the scam and the tapes were taking centre-stage at a time when the "entire world is focused on India right now and there is so much expected out of India".
He said there is no single constituency who's excluded -- business, government, politicians, media -- and everybody is part of this, referring to the tapes.
Gopalakrishnan said, "I hope we all then can put together some way we can address these things, put these things behind us and focus on what we need to do to meet the expectations of the entire world".
"I also feel -- and this is from my heart actually -- that we shouldn't judge somebody too fast. We should let the system decide. Of course, the system has to come to some conclusions quickly, it can't be forever also. But we should wait for the system to decide rather than us judging," he said.
