2G scam: Kanimozhi appears in CBI court for bail hearing

"I really don't know if I will be arrested," Kanimozhi told reporters on her arrival at the Patiala House Court complex.
Kanimozhi, the daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, had applied for bail on Friday, but the court had deferred the decision till Saturday.
Senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, arguing for Kanimozhi, cited to her gender to appeal for bail.
"Treat my bail as a reward for my sex, for my motherhood, and for my clean image. I have not interfered with the evidence nor will do so," Jethmalani pleaded her case before the court.
Kanimozhi, 43, has been charged with section 7 and 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The chargesheet said the investigation into the case disclosed that money had travelled from DB Realty to Kalaignar TV.
The supplementary chargesheet filed by the investigating agency has also named as co-accused Sharad Kumar of Kalaignar TV, Karim Morani of Cineyug Films, and Asif Balwa and Rajiv B Agarwal of Kusegaon Realty.
The others, who have been arrested so far in connection with this case are former Telecom Minister A Raja, his personal secretary RK Chandolia and former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behuria.
