2G scam: CBI quizzes Idea CEO

Today's questioning comes days after the agency told a court that Reliance had stakes in Swan Telecom which was one of the companies that had bagged the 2G spectrum license.

NEW DELHI: Continuing its probe into the financial dealings of Anil Ambani led ADAG group in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam, the CBI on Wednesday questioned a top executive Amit Sarin of realty and infrastructure firm – Anant Raj Industries - for links with the group. Apart from Amit Sarin, CBI also questioned Idea Cellular CEO Sanjeev Aga in connection with the 2G Spectrum scam.

Official sources confirmed that the agency questioned Amit Sarin, Director and CEO of Anant Raj Industries Ltd and Aga.

Today's questioning comes days after the agency told a court that Reliance had stakes in Swan Telecom which was one of the companies that had bagged the 2G spectrum license. The agency has already done a round of questioning with Ambani in February. Rejecting the bail pleas of Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa and R K Chandolia, former personal secretary of former telecom minister A Raja, Special CBI Judge O P Saini had said "M/s Reliance Telecom Limited of ADAG group of companies had already been granted license in some circles and, as such, M/s Swan Telecom Pvt Ltd, its associate company, was not eligible for license."
