2G case: Key witness A K Srivastava to depose on July 16

A Delhi court today postponed the recording of statement of A K Srivastava, the star witness in the 2G scam case, to July 16 after he cited ill health.

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court today postponed the recording of statement of A K Srivastava, the star witness in the 2G scam case, to July 16 after he cited ill health.

Srivastava, the then Deputy Director General (Access Services) of Department of Telecommunication, appeared in the court at the onset of the proceedings and prayed that his examination may not be started on July 9, the date for which he was summoned.

Special CBI judge O P Saini allowed his plea and said, "He be summoned for July 16, as prayed by him."

Srivastava had prayed that he may be given a week more to recover from sickness.
