2G: BJP submits dissent note, alleges report made by government people
NEW DELHI: BJP has rejected the Joint Parliamentary Committee’s report on 2G spectrum and alleged a ‘cover-up’ to protect Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram. After the JPC on Bofors this was the second one which was a complete farce, it alleged in 36-page dissent note to the JPC report.

The six BJP members in the committee -- Yashwant Sinha, Jaswat Singh, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Gopinath Munde, Dharmendra Pradhan and Harin Pathak -- said the report chose not to fix responsibility on the PM, PMO, FM and others despite “voluminous evidence on record” before the JPC.

“The report is flawed from page one. Its a bundle of contradictions, half-truths and untruths,” BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said. The BJP leaders alleged that “PM, the PMO, the finance ministry, and DoT prepared the report.... This entire game has been played by the government.” They said the government controlled JPC chairman PC Chacko and he worked according to their directions, a charge the Congress leader denied, saying everything was done in a democratic manner.
