NEW DELHI: The UPA-II today highlighted the opening of 27,000 new Anganwadi centres under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) in its report card to the people.


In the 'Report to the People' presented for the year 2012-13, the UPA government that it had recently approved the strengthening the ICDS which is implemented by the Women and Child Development (WCD) ministry by allocating it with a budget of Rs 1,23,580 crore in the XII five year plan.

The UPA report card also mentioned the launching of an awareness campaign in 2012 to end malnutrition.

The report card also mentioned Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill, 2013 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 as important legislations that it got passed by the Parliament.
