2,500 employees of ACME Group participate on Day 1 of Fire Safety Week

CHANDIGARH: Clean energy firm ACME Group, in association with the National Safety Council, on April 15 kick-started the Fire Safety Week at the company’s 11,829 telecom towers and solar sites in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

"The objective of the activity is to propagate health and safety practices throughout the work culture at ACME and enhance safety awareness to prevent the loss of life. Our employees’ health and safety is central to the core operations of the organisation and the Fire Safety Week is a crucial activity to renew the commitment of our employees towards adopting the right safety practices," CEO Samir Sharan said.

During the week, ACME will carry out audits at the sites with fire safety check sheet and report submission, customer input, practical demonstrations, fire fighting and electrical tools safety and training.

On the first day, the campaign witnessed active participation from over 2,500 employees across centres.

In the domestic market, ACME Group leads in field of energy management and innovative solutions for wireless telecommunications and alternate energy sectors. The company aims to install solar power capacities up to 7,500 mw by 2019 and has a current portfolio of 1.5 GWp at present.

The Fire Safety Week has been observed across the country since 1999 under the guidance of the fire adviser in the Union home ministry in remembrance of the lives lost in the devastating fire that erupted on April 14, 1944 at the Victoria Dock in Mumbai.
